No, this is not deja vu. Redskins DL Albert Haynesworth has failed his conditioning test again this morning, making it twice in two days that he has been unable to pass this test and move on to practice with the rest of the team.
After Haynesworth failed for the first time yesterday, Head Coach Mike Shanahan said this:
“It may take a week,” Shanahan said. “We don’t know. …The only thing I can tell you is that when he does pass the test, I’ll feel very good that he can go out there and compete at that position.”
Looks like he wasn’t kidding. We’ll keep you updated.
UPDATE from Redskins.com:
Albert Haynesworth is working in weight room during Fri. practice…Running on treadmill alongside strength/conditioning coach Ray Wright.
UPDATE: With Albert Haynesworth being absent on the field and the signing of rookie OT Trent Williams, Haynesworth is the ONLY Redskin player not on the field. Great news, given the fact we are used to injuries form the start. Looks like the Mike Shanahan off-season workout session were well worth it.
