NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell announced — a bit earlier than scheduled — that the NFL regular season will begin on Thursday September 9, 2010 [we knew that part] in New Orleans, as the Saints host the Minnesota Vikings.
“I know I will get in trouble from our scheduling makers for releasing this in advance, but the Saints will be hosting the Minnesota Vikings for our Kickoff game. It should be a great celebration in a great city.”
This is obviously a rematch of last year’s NFC Championship game. A pretty good choice, I’d say.
