The battle between Taylor Hall and Tyler Sequin for the coveted first overall draft pick may be heating up on hockey blogs, websites, and message boards, but it has not reached mock draft writers just yet. Not much has changed from the time we started updating the 2010 NHL Mock Draft Database to now, end of March. Taylor Hall has a big lock on No. 1, while Tyler Sequin has a lock on No. 2.
We are not at the point where we are doping weekly Mock munches for the NHL Database, but we will eventually. We are updating the Database on a weekly basis, sometimes a few times per week. We just added in the 4 new NHL.com mocks plus updated one other. Here are the Database stats.
| Updated | March 30 |
| Total Mocks | 22 |
| Updated in Mar | 11 |
For this mock munch, we munched together all Mock Draft updated in the month of March. That is a total of 11 mocks munched. Here are your new Top 9 pick leaders:
| 1st Pick | Taylor Hall | 88% |
| 2nd Pick | Tyler Sequin | 63% |
| 3rd Pick | Cam Fowler | 63% |
| 4th Pick | Brandon Gormley | 37% |
| 5th Pick | Erik Gudbranson | 46% |
| 6th Pick | Brett Connolly | 27% |
| 7th Pick | Gudbranson/Burmistrov | 18% |
| 8th Pick | Nino Niederreiter | 36% |
| 9th Pick | Granlund/Pysyk | 18% |
Not hard to see or project that as you slide down the board, the percentage drop. That will likely even out as the Draft Order is finalized. As you can see, Taylor Hall still has a rather commanding lead as the top overall projected pick among the 11 most updated NHL mock drafts. Meanwhile, Sequin is not as strong at No. 2 overall, as he fluctuates between 1st and 3rd.
