This week’s picks
GAME ONE: St. Louis Rams at Washington Redskins
PennSkinsFan: Redskins are mad and embarrassed about the intensity and play on Sunday against the Giants. I believe they will take that out on the Rams. HC Jim Zorn is also under pressure to open the offense and allow Jason Campbell to air it out. Coach Zorn should try and remember, Canmpbell is a 5 year vet, not a rookie. Redskins 31 – Rams 10
Spence: The Rams are awful. Truly, horribly awful. And yet this awful team [2-14 last year and headed for more of the same this year] held the Redskins offense to 17 points in 2008 and upset Washington at home. It’s hard to see the Redskins repeating that godawful abortion of a performance, especially since the condemnation that came raining down on them this week for losing to the Giants will be nothing compared to what they’d get for losing to the Rams again. St. Louis can’t block, can’t pass, can’t defend and has only a handful of players on the roster that you would want on a good pro football team. The Redskins offense should explode this week, but there is no sign the offense is good enough to explode against any NFL team, no matter how terrible.
Redskins 23 Rams 6
there on the Redskins. The problem is the offense has little identity
and thus executes poorly. There’s no better team for solve these
problems than the Rams. Redskins 30 – Rams 8
Mattyk72 (Adminsitrator, TheWarpath.net) The Skins should bounce back strong at home against a really weak Rams
team. I’m aware of what happened last year when these two teams played,
but so are the Skins and they won’t allow any sort of letdown this time
around. Clinton Portis should easily top 100 yards rushing in this one. Redskins 24 – Rams 7

GAME TWO: New Orleans at Philadelphia
PennSkinsFan: Even if Donovan McNabb plays, he won’t be at the top of his game and uis taking a huge risk. I fell a pretty good day ahead for QB Drew Brees. Sanits are hanbding Philly a loss. Saints 24 Eagles 20
Spence: . Cowboys 24 – Buccaneers 10
leads a two-touchdown rally to tie the game, but Brees and the Saints
get it done at the end … Saints 21 – Eagles 14
Mattyk72: If McNabb was 100% for this game I might be going with Philly, but with
Kolb the likely starter I like the Saints to take this one on the road
to start the season 2-0. Brees stays hot with at least 3 TD passes… Saints 27 – Eagles 17

GAME THREE: New York Giants at Dallas
PennSkinsFan: It really isn’t a hate thing, I just don’t think Dallas is that good. OK, maybe it is. But, the Gainst are a better football team than Dallas hands downa nd they will prove that by spoiling the opener atthe new Cowboys stadium. Giants 27 Cowboys 13
Spence: . Panthers 21 – Eagles 20
Cowboys pull it off in OT after Romo picks apart Giants’ secondary on 2 minute drive to tie game at end of regulation. Cowboys 27 – Giants 24
Mattyk72: A classic NFC East matchup. I like the Giants to ruin the Cowboys’
debut of their new stadium in a close affair. Something tells me Romo
throws a late pick to seal the deal for the Giants. I also think
Brandon Jacobs and the Giants running game will do a serious number on
the Cowboys defense that struggled to slow down the Bucs rushing attack
a week ago. Giants 20 – Cowboys 17
