Still, they’ve been friendly competitors for years now and that won’t change tonight. Read it.

Speaking of defensive backs, Lendy Holmes is trying to find a job in a very crowded and talented Redskins secondary. I don’t like his chances. Read it.
Sticking with the secondary, I think it’s fair to say that DeAngelo Hall prefers being a Redskin to a Raider. REALLY prefers it. Read it.
Still another defensive back, Fred Smoot, says nice things about Redskins receivers and offensive linemen. Sorry, I’m not conviced, Fred. Read it.

TE Chris Cooley is listed on the Redskins site as #2 on the depth chart for punter. Special Teams Coach Danny Smith isn’t looking forward to testing that out.

“If Cooley gets in there to punt, look for me on the sidelines in a trenchcoat and sunglasses, trying to be in disguise.”

Read it.
When the Redskins let DL Demetric Evans, a productive and versatile, if unspectacular lineman, leave in free agency [for a very reasonable and affordable contract], there was a hole on the line. DL Lorenzo Alexander hopes to fill that hole, playing the hybrid DE-DT position and providing a pass rush from up the middle. Read it.
There are only 3 QB jobs available on the Redskins and Jason Campbell has already got the best one. That leaves Todd Collins, Colt Brennan and Chase Daniels fighting for 2 spots. Chase, you should be renting. Read it.
All 4 QBs will play against the Ravens tonight, though. Personally, I wouldn’t play Campbell more than one series. Read it.
WR Marko Mitchell is young, talented, and tall. His odds of making the active roster are even taller, considering the players in front of him. His best bet may be an injury to one of the five players likely to make the team at WR. If he plays well, I see the still-raw Mitchell finding a place on the practice squad for a year before replacing DJ Hackett on the roster in 2010. Read it.
Another WR, Marques Hagans, is an NFL vagabond who hopes he’s finally found a home. I doubt it. Read it.
Rick Snider argues that the NFL preseason has to go. I’d cut it in half. Read it.
John Keim writes about what he’s looking for in preseason game #1. Read it.
The Washington Times previews the Redskins-Ravens game tonight. Read it.
Yet another preview of the game tonight. Read it.
Warpath Confidential previews the game tonight. Read it.
The Baltimore Sun previews the game from the other side. Read it.
Where should you watch tonight’s game and all other preseason games this year. Read it and find out.
Local rivalries aside, there are no bragging rights in preseason. Read it.
