The Washington Nationals defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates 5-3 behind another home run from Josh Willingham.  It was number 17 on the season for Willingham, who is by far having a career year.  Willingham overall was 2 for 3 with 2 runs and 3 RBIs.  He is now hitting a solid .305.

Ryan Zimmerman was 2 for 3 and is hitting .293.  he has a new hitting streak alive, now at 7 games.  During that stretch, Zimmy is 11 for 25.  Ronnie Belliard was 2 for  4 with a run scored.
The Nationals put together a 3 run 7th to give them the lead and added an insurance run in the 8th inning on a double by Willingham.

Colin Balestar pitched 5.2 innings allowing 5 hits and 2 runs.  Sean Burnette picked up the bullpen win and Mike MacDougal slammed the door in the ninth for his 7th save.  Overall, a solid performance from the bullpen today.  5 pitcher combined for 1 run in 3.1 innings for the Nats.

On the farm . . .
