Is new Wizards head coach Flip Saunders hiring another assistant coach? He’s already got Randy Wittman and Sam “I am” Cassell on staff, but it looks like Don Zierdan, head coach of the WNBA Minnesota Lynx, resigned that position to join the Washington coaching staff.
Zierden worked under Saunders for five seasons when Saunders coached the Timberwolves and for the 2005-06 season when Saunders led the Detroit Pistons.
It seems as if Saunders wants someone really close to him — a Mike O’Koren type — to help him run the team.
