Nats Farm Report (4/28/09): Clippard's performance begging for a Nationals call up

Syracuse (AAA):

Syracuse pummeled Buffalo 7-1 last night, second straight win over Buffalo. The Chiefs held Buffalo to just 2 hits.  Marco Estrada (1-0) allowed both hits over 5 innings in a super quality start for the Chiefs.  Tyler Clippard, Ronald Villone, and Jesus Colome combined for 4 hit-less and scoreless innings of relief.  Clippard has not posted a 0.79 ERA in the Chiefs bullpen, begging a Nationals call up.  Clippard is 2-0 with a 0.79 ERA, allowing just 1 run in 11.1 innings. 

Lastings Milledge was 2 for 5 with a double and run scored.  he is hitting .286 since his demotion.   Ryan Langerhans hit his second homer, a grand slam.  Irvin Guzman was 2 for 4. 
  
Record and Status: 10-6, 4.5 games out

Hitters: Lastings Milledge is 8 for his last 18 at bats over the last 4 games.  During that stretch, Milledge has 2 doubles, 3 runs scored, and 4 stolen bases.  Ryan Langerhans has hit 4 home runs over his last 7 games.  Seth Bynum has a 6 game hitting streak in which he has gone 10 for 22.

Pitchers:  SP Marcos Estrada has allowed just 2 runs over 15 innings in his last 3 starts for the Chiefs.  Tyler Clippard has a 0.79 ERA out of the bullpen, allowing a single run over 11.1 innings.

Hagerstown (A):

Hagerstown fell to Lake County 8-4 last night.  Marcos Frias (0-1) allowed 6 hits and 6 runs over 4.2 innings to get tabbed with the loss.  Joseph Garrett struck out the sid ein his one inning of relief work.  2007 draft pick Steve Souza was 2 for 4 with a run and RBI.  2008 draft pick Christopher Curren was 2 for 4.   

Record and Status: 5-10, 4 games out

Hitters:  2008 draft pick Robert Jacobsen has a 5 game hitting streak. Over the 5 games he is 6 for 20.  Jacosbsen is hitting .290.   Christopher Curren is hitting .303 over his last 10 games.
