Syracuse (AAA):

Syracuse shutout Buffalo yesterday behind the second straight impressive performance by Colin Balestar (1-2).  Balestar pitched 6 scoreless innings, scattering 4 hits and striking out 3.  In his last two games, Balestar has allowed 1 run in 12 innings.  David Williams and John Glover preserved the shut out form the bullpen. Freddie Bynum was 3 for 4 and hit a 3 run homer to power the Chiefs offense.  C Josh Bard and OF Ryan Langerhans each had 2 hits.    
Record and Status: 9-6, 4.5 games out

Hitters: Jorge Padilla is hitting .353.  Seth Bynum is batting .343 with 3 homers.  Ryan Langerhans raised his average to .300.

Pitchers:  SP Craig Stammen is off to a hot start, recording a 2-1 record and a 1.50 ERA, allowing 3 runs over 18 innings.  In 9.1 innings, Tyler Clippard has a 0.96 ERA out of the bullpen. 

Harrisburg (AA):

Erie defeated Harrisburg 8-4. It is Harrisburg’s 3rd consecutive loss.  Adrian Alaniz threw 4 innings allowing 2 runs and striking out 6. Zacahry Segovia got shelled out of the bullpen for 5 runs in just a third of an inning.  Matt Whitney and Jhonatan Solano each had two hits for the Senators.  

Record and Status:  2-13, 10 games out

HittersIan Desmond was hitting .346.  He has been placed on the DL. Edgardo Baez is hitting .283 and has 3 homers.  

PitchersMike O’Connor has led Senators starters with a 2.45 ERA.  Prospects Ross Detwiler and Corey Van Allen each have ERA over 5.00. 

Potomac (A):

Potomac got rocked by Frederick 13-7.  Erik Arenesen got rocked for the first time and taking his first loss, allowing 7 runs, 2 of which were earned, in 4 innings allowing 9 hits. Daniel Leatherman,
otherwise having an impressive season start, got shelled for 4 runs in
1.2 innings out of the bullpen. Francisco Placenia was 2 for 5, while Chris Marrero was 1 for 3 and drilled his third homer.

Record and Status: 9-9, 2 games out

Hitters: Prospect and former 1st round pick Chris Marrero is hitting .319 with 3 homers and 13 RBis.  Danny Espinosa is hitting .321 and has 7 stolen bases. OF Michael Burgess has 5 homers, but is hitting .182 

Pitchers: Erik Arnesen is 2-1 with a 2.25 ERA.  2007 darft pick Bradley Meyers is 2-0 and has allowed 4 runs over 18 innings. 

Hagerstown (A):

The Suns were off last night. 

Record and Status: 5-9, 4 games out

HittersNick Arata is hitting .326.  Derek Norris has 3 homers and 8 RBis. 

Pitchers
Bradley Peacock has allowed just 2 earned runs in 16.2 innings.  He has recorded a 1.08 ERA.  2008 draft pick Ricardo Pecina has a 3.55 ERA.  Justin Phillabaum has allowed only 1 run in 8.1 innings out of the Suns bullpen.
