Redskins FB Mike Sellers is unhappy and not participating in voluntary workouts. Seller made the Pro Bowl last year and doesn’t feel he is getting paid what he deserves.
Pro Bowl fullback Mike Sellers has not been participating in the
Redskins’ voluntary off-season program, according to league and team
sources, and is seeking a new contract. Sellers signed a four-year, $4
million deal in March 2007, which included a modest $700,000 signing
bonus, and reached the Pro Bowl for the first time in 2008.Sellers’s current deal expires after the 2010 season and he recently
changed agents, signing with high-profile Drew Rosenhaus, who shares a
close relationship with Redskins owner Daniel Snyder.
Ok, Sellers made the pro bowl. He is an exceptional player on special teams. He is the key lead blocker for RB Clinton Portis.
That is where the defense of Sellers’ ends.
Hey Mike — you are the one that signed the 4 year, $4 million deal. Your signature is on it. With the Redskins facing a salary cap strapped situation, this isn’t a good environment you picked to complain about the contract YOU SIGNED. And pardon me, but a team that has produced mediocre season after season after season, well, the roster doesn’t deserve pay increases. That happens for winning teams.
