Varlamov and Bradley (you read that right) lead the Caps to 4-0 win

Now why couldn’t the Caps play like this earlier in this series?  The Caps came out full of energy and intensity and never let up.

And how about the young 20 year old goalie.  His name is Simeon Varlamov.  And he recorded his second shut out of the playoffs.  Varlamov was once again sensational, absolutely sensational in net, stopping all 20 shots.  This kid is going to simply be, GREAT.  In 4 games, Varly has allowed only 3 goals.

But even weirder, Matt Bradley scored 2 goals in the first period to jump start the Washington Capitals.  No, you are not blind.  You may be drunk, but you are reading right.  Matt Bradley scored the first goal of the game on a short hand breakaway to give the Capitals a 1-0 lead. But, that wasn’t good enough for Brads.  Less than 8 minutes later, Bradley put his second goal past Lundqvist from the left side.

Washington’s other 2 goals came in the second period.  Alexander Semin took a face off and slapped a long shot right above the right shoulder of Lundqvist to make it 3-0.  Lundqvist never saw the puck. Then Alex Ovechkin struck with just 30 seconds left in the second period on a highlight reel Ovechkin fall down shot to put the Caps up 4-0.

Lundqvist did not come in the third period.

The series now stand with the Ranger leading 3 games to 2 and it goes back to Madison Square Garden Sunday afternoon at 2 PM.
