Harrisburg Senators (AA): The Senators fell to Erie 8-3 last night. Ross Detwiler (0-2) took the mound and pitched 4.2 innings scattering 6 hits and allowing 2 runs. Reliever Josh Wilkie got pounded for 4 runs in 1.2 innings. Bad night for Senators pitching. The Senators problems continue both at pitching and the plate. The Sens managed only 6 hits again. Leonard Davis hit his second homer in as many night while 2B Mike Martinez added a homer as well. After a slow start, Bill Rhinehart is starting to get hot, going 1 for 3 with an RBI,. He has hits in three consecutive games and 4 for his last 7.

Potomac Nationals (A): The Nationals bats exploded last night bombing Frederick 14-8. On the mound, despite giving up 6 runs, only 2 earned, in 5 innings, Jeff Mandel (1-1) got the win. Mandel allowed 7 hits and struck out 3. Marty Beno pitched 2 scoreless innings of relief for Potomac. At the plate, the Nationals had 5 players with 2 hits each. IF Francisco Placencia was 2 for 4, scored 4 runs, doubled and knocked in 2 runs. He is hitting .280. One of the best bats thus far in Potomac and the Nationals system this year has been Daniel Espinosa. Espinosa was 2 for 5 with a run, double, and an RBI last night. He is hitting .333. 2007 draft pick Michael Burgess was 2 for 3 and hit his 4th homer already. Much like Rhinehart at Harrisburg, Burgess started out slow but is heating up. Sean Rooney and Daniel Nelson also has 2 hits each.
