4 of the top 5 NFL Draft picks are now Consensus Picks

The NFL Mock Draft Database has been updated.  For the first time in it’s 9 year history, the Database has reached 300 total mock drafts.  That is awesome! 

In addition we did a mock draft munch of the past 7 days, munch running from all mock draft updated between March 29 and April 4.  What did we find?  Among Mock Drafts, many of them what we deem to be professional type mock drafts (ones that are run by media analysts, NFL scouting firms, and ones that are 7 years or older and have historical basiison accuracy) a CONSENSUS is developing in the Top 5 Picks. 

Now, 4 of the Top 5 Picks we can declare as Consensus picks.  What do we declare as ‘Consensus’?  A player has to get at least 55% oif mock drafts munched projecting them at the slot to be declared by the NFL Mock Draft Database as a CONSENSUS  choice.

Mocks Updated Today by DCPSR:  37 Mocks

Mocks updated in the month of April:  48 Mocks  

Here are the TOP FIVE picks and the percentages they have gotten from the 78 mocks drafts munched between 3/29/09 and 4/4/09

1st Pick (Detroit Lions):  CONSENSUS

QB Matt Stafford.  Stafford now tallies 77% of the 78 mock drafts updated over the last 7 days.  That is up 18% since our lats updated on 3/26. 

2nd Pick (St. Louis Rams):  CONSENSUS

 OT Jason Smith.  Smith now tallies 68% of the 78 mock drafts updated over the last 7
days.  That is up 17% since our lats updated on 3/26.

3rd Pick (Kansas City Chiefs):  CONSENSUS

LB Aaron Curry.  Curry now tallies 81% of the 78 mock drafts updated over the last 7
days.  That is up 21% since our lats updated on 3/26.

4th Pick (Seattle Seahawks):  NO Consensus

OT Eugene Monroe.  Monroe is moving closer to Consensus status.  He now tallies 45% of the 78 mock drafts updated over the last 7
days.  That is up 15% since our lats updated on 3/26.

5th Pick (Cleveland Browns):  CONSENSUS

DE Brian Orakpo.  Orakpo now tallies 71% of the 78 mock drafts updated over the last 7
days.  That is up 13% since our lats updated on 3/26.

There you have it.  Brand new consensus numbers update up to today from only mocks updated int he last 7 days, 78 total.
