Nashville jumped on top 1-0 just 50 seconds into the game with a goal from Ryan Suter.  Despite the Caps out shooting Nashville 13-10, they went into the intermission down 1-0.

Washington tied it up in the second period on a beautiful 5 on 5 goal by Nicklas Backstrom, his 18th goal of the season.  That would be it for scoring in the second period.

Caps out shot Nashville 17-9 and played very effective keep away from the Preds in the third period, but could not net a puck.  Tomas Fleischman did appear to score, but the goal was waved off after review showed the puck going off Flash’s skate and a slight kicking movement by Flash.

Jose Theodore stopped 27 of 28 shots for an impressive win by the Caps netminder.  Donald Brashear did not return to the ice after a fight.  The Caps said Brashear suffered a sprained knee.

This was a well played game by the Caps, as far as defense, not allowing alot of opportunities for Nashville.  The Caps were pretty effective at puck possession and the penalty kill  The Caps did have some impressive shot opportunities, but Predators goal Dan Ellis was more than on top of his game, making some down right awesome saves.

Multi-Point Scorers:

Victor Kozlov, 2 assits

DCPSR Player of the Game:

Sergei Fedorov, game winning goal and Jose Theodore, stopping 27 of 28 shots for the win
