DCPSR Washington Caps Blog Review

Next up.  If you didn’t see it, we have already reviewed all the blogs out there we could thing of that cover the Washington Redskins.  Here it is if you missed it. 

Now, on to the Capitals.  There are sooooooo many Caps blog.  Probably because the general media is not that great towards the Caps and NHL.  The Washington capitals have the largest NHL blog coverage, hands down.  Given that, we are going to rank these based on Stars (* * * * * EXCELLENT COVERAGE, * * * * This is a great read! * * * Pretty Decent Blog, * * It’s OK, * Ummmm, not sure what’s going on here)

Tarik’s Capitals Insider, Washington Post:  How can you be a Caps fan and not love the work Tarik does.  Tarik was bringing quality coverage before it was popular.  He brings great, in depth stories to the Washington Post nearly every day, but his blog is updated several times per day, latest injury news, latest Lines, latest news in general.  If you are a Caps fan, you have to read Capitals Insider.  There is no real reason this should not be bookmarked and checked daily, period.  Rank:  * * * * *

In the Room, Washington Times:  Corey Masisak does a great job covering the caps.  He also appears often on the Caps podcast.  The blog is not nearly as updated as Tarik’s, but then again, I am not sure the Times dumps as much resources into sports coverage that the Post does, on all DC sports.  But, it is a must read and must bookmark.  Again, if you are a die hard fan, you read Corey’s blog, you just do.   Rank: * * * * *

WNST, Baltimore:  Ed Frankovich’s blog on the Capitals.  Ed does a pretty solid job.  Game reviews are in depth and locker room coverage.  I think Ed does a pretty solid job.  Worth a bookmark.  Rank * * * *  

Joe Beninati’s Comcast Blog:  Its a must read.  Benenait is the Comcast play by play announce for the Caps.  Beninati is the play by play announcer along with former Cap Greg Laughlin.  I like these guys, they do an awesome job.  

Dump n Chase: 
Must read.  This is one of the official blogs of Washington Capitals
official website, produced by coverage guy Mike Vogel.  Very intriguing
and in depth coverage.  This should join your daily barrage of Caps
news.  One thing is clear, if you think NHL and Caps coverage out there
is lacking, we are giving you the best sources around, right here.

Japers’s Rink: 
I rank Japers’ up there with OFB.  It is ONE OF THE BEST on the web,
hands down, for Caps coverage.  We link to Japers’ here often, and we
do so for a reason, because his coverage and analysis is excellent. I
would rank Japers’ Rink in there as one of those blogs that if you are

A View from the Cheap Seats: 
Awesome blog.  Love the coverage they provide.  I hate to keep saying
it, but we only say it when it is true, bookmark this blog and check
back often.  Excellent stories and provide some excellent feedback if

Peerless Prognosticator: 
Another one of DCPSR favorite blogs. Simply some of the best coverage on
the Capitals you are going to find.  We here at DCPSR read it, link to
it, and enjoy it.  Worth your bookmark?  Yes.  Worth a daily visit? 
Absolutely.  You don’t just get game reviews here you get great insight
from a guy that knows his hockey.  One of those absolute daily must
reads for any Caps fan.    

Homer McFanBoy: 
We covered HomerMFB in our Redskins blog review and have the same
comments in this blog review.  Homer McFanBoy does an awesome job. 
Count it as one of DCPSR’s favorite blog that we read.  Unique coverage

Caps Blue Line: 
Like this blog alot.  You can probably tell. There are times we link
directly to them in our Caps posts.  Nice analysis they provide, game
reviews, and some bullet points at the end, much like DCPSR.  Worth a

Puckhead’s Thoughts: 
I consider this one of the top Caps blogs on the Internet, right up
there with Japers’ OFB, Peerless, and others.  It is a great read,
excellent content, daily posting, excellent analysis.  I have it
bookmark, I read it daily, we link to it, that should be enough
testimony.  We don’t have the most time in the world here at DCPSR, so

I like their Redskins coverage, well, I like the capitals coverage

You will get a game preview, you will get a game review.  That’s what
they do and they do it well.  Maybe they will run across us for a

A different kind of blog.  Pretty neat twisting of Caps hockey and some
spirituality.  Nicely done, fascinating read.  You’re not going to
simply get game reviews here.  You’re going to get a good read from

Bleatings from a Caps Nut: 
I like the analysis they do post game, the good, the bad, and the
ugly.  Good content and after game analysis.  Been around for some
time.  Problem is, it seems the posting is becoming more sporadic. 
We’re hoping they get back to regular blogging because their stuff ifs

Consistent posting blog that does mostly pretty good, in depth game

Not a bad little blog.  It’s not the type of blog that posts everyday. 
In fact, there has not been a post in February yet.  But, there is
consistency each month in Caps coverage.  Go check it out.   It’s not

Mark’s Musings: 
I like the job Mark does.  This is another one of those blogs that is
obviously not meant to be a daily feed or anything like that.  He went
from January 19 to Feb 2 between posts.  He states to why, he is busy
and that is cool. But, bookmark it and check it out once in awhile
