Marred in a two game slump and missing 7 starters, Bruce Boudreau took some action of his own, that he hopes will spark different results.
Firs, the Captials optioned Graham Mink back to the Hershey Bears and replace him by promoting Keith Aucoin, the AHL’s leading scorer, to Washington. Gotta admit, if there is Hershey Bear that deserves a promotion to DC, it is Aucoin.
Aucoin is slated to play on a line with Tomas Fleischmann and Viktor Kozlov Thursday night against the New York Islanders, according to The Washington Post. Woods said he didn’t know whether Aucoin would be reassigned after the game.
Interesting. Aucoin moves to Line 2 to help feed passes to Tomas Fleischmann, who has 10 goals, and Victor Kozlov, who has been heating up. Aucoin leads the AHL with 36 points and leads the AHL with 27 helpers.
Tarik at the Washington Post gives us what the practices lines were today.

(Yep. Nylander was on the wing)

More tidbits from Tarik. Brent Johnson is in goal tonight, not surprising after Jose Theodore’s performance two nights ago. Yeah, Theodore was failed by poor defense, but two of the goals Theo gave up were just damn poor goal tending. Johnson will look to reverse the fortunes for the injury plagued Caps tonight.
