Redskins Thumbs Up and Thumbs Down

Thumbs Up
First Thumbs up goes to any Redskin fan that actually stayed throughout the whole game to watch that crap.  It was rainy, it was cold, and it was a miserable game to watch.  The Redskins offense just sucked, the defense allowed receiver to get wide open, the defensive line failed to sustain any type of pressure consistently, and the offense line rarely open a hole for any running back to see.  It was a awful performance, at home, and DCPSR gives a huge Thumbs Up to the bold and loyal fans that actually stayed at FEDEX to the very end.  You deserve our respect and our Thumbs Up.
Second Thumbs Up goes to Sean Taylor in heaven.  It was his day, it was his honor, it was his spirit that filled FEDEX today.  Just one year ago, Redskins fans through out the nation cried or weeped or simply sat stunned and feeling a deep loss as we struggled together to overcome the tragic loss of this football player, this fan of the game, this father, this friend, this teammate,, and this role model.  Today, the Redskins honored Sean Taylor with the Ring of Fame honor.  It was Sean’s day, and I just feel bad that the Redskins were unable to rise to honor him with a big win.  Nevertheless, it was our day to celebrate Sean Taylor.
Thumbs Down
Easy.  The wide receivers.  What a horrible game for these guys.  Antwaan Randle El dropped two passes.  The receivers failed on nearly every level to get open.  A few of Jason Campbell’s sacks can be attributed to the wide receivers failure to get one, more so than the offensive line.  The only positive out there was Devin Thomas scoring his first NFL touchdown.  Other than that, weak, weak effort.  The Giant receivers were open, had energy, had burst, and executed the plays, all things the Redskins receivers absolutely failed to do.   So kudos to Thomas on his first NFL TD, but a big thumbs down to the unit as a whole.
The second Thumbs Down was a struggle between the defensive line, the secondary, and Shaun Shuisham.  We award it to the secondary.  There were just too many blown assignments and Giant wide receivers wide open.  Kudos to DeAngelo Hall on a relatively nice game, garnering 2 tackles, 2 assists, a pick, and two pass deflections.  Matter of fact, we amend this to be a thumbs down to the Redskins secondary MINUS DeAngelo Hall.  Granted, the defensive line did not help the secondary by failing to sustain any consistent pressure, but, this secondary is used to that.  Fact still remains, especially in the first half, there were wide outs way, way too open.
