Kozlov Out Two weeks

The Washington Capitals will likely be without RW Victor Kozlov for two weeks. The Washington Post reports the confirmation from GM George McPhee.
Kozlov is a mainstay on the top line with Alexander Ovechkin and Nicklas Backstrom.  The replacement will likely be Chris Clark.  Kozlov is in his second year witht he Capitals, obtaine din the 2007 off-season, along with Michael Nylander and Tom Poti.   Kozlov has one assist in the first three games.
In addition, Tarik reports that Bruce Boudreau did to commit to playing Sergei Fedorov on defense against Pittsburgh, as he did against Vancouver.  I personally like the way Fedorov played back on the blue line, thought the defense moved the puck substantially better with him back on defense and felt he also elevated the game play of Milan Jurcina.  I am all for it.  Fedorov seems to endorse the idea as well.

“It was fun because you play every third shift,” said Fedorov, who has been used on defense occasionally throughout his career. “There’s a rhythm. You stay in the game. I really did enjoy it. It kept me alert.”

Yahoo Sports Power ranking is out, Caps ranked 13th.
