Smoke Signals: Your daily Redskins news wire conglomerate —- Don’t miss a beat!
After a season last year with a punt return average of just over 5 yards per return and a fumble this year and a dismal average of 4.2 and a fumble, the Redskins may be looking at other options outside Antwaan Randle El. And with that, I concur. Randle El spends too much time dancing and being cute instead of gaining positive yards. The Redskins will look at Santana Moss and James Thrash.
By the way, in case you missed it, Chris Cooley is sorry and probably a bit embarrassed. We reported it here at DCPSR, Mr. Cooley’s blog mistakes that left him a bit, well, ummm, exposed to say the least. But, Chris has apologized in his own way.
All apologies from the website. We are very sorry that we showed a penis on our website all day yesterday. The picture wouldn’t have been up for so long, but we were in the middle of winning a big game. Once again, this was a complete accident and we regret not reviewing the post more closely.
Well, given he had 72 yards receiving and multiple first downs, all is forgiven here!
Besides racking up 455 offensive yards, the other good thing about Jim Zorn is his openness, his fresh perspectives and his willingness to be, well, Jim Zorn.
“It’s always a work in progress,” Campbell said. “It was only our second full game. The more games we play, the more comfortable everybody will feel. Each time I run a play, I see something different and a defense may give you a different look.”
Ryan O’Holloran writes on the progress with the offensive system and the Zorn playbook.
So we already read about Chris Horton well deserved honor as NFL Defensive Player of the Week. Seems Horton had alot of confidence in himself, a big notch for a young rookie to overcome. What’s even odder about the fumble recovery, 2 picks and an NFC honor, Reed Doughty will start in place of Horton on Sunday. Boooooo! But hey, you can have your say, vote for who should start.
A current ‘Skin and former ‘Skin get heated on the airwaves.
To which Mitchell, a co-host, replied, “I’m not hating. I respect you, but a lot of things I don’t like and if I don’t like it, I will tell you.”
Mitchell later told him, “Every time I say something negative, I say something positive. But I’m not going to be one of those people running around kissing your butt.”
A few minutes later, Portis said, “You see me all the time, why don’t you talk to me, talk to me like a man?”
Mitchell said, “Don’t think you can come on this air and talk trash to me like I’ll back down. I talk about football, bro. If you ever want to go to that area, that will be the wrong thing to do.”
Interesting to say the least.
Stopping Reggie Bush for 28 rushing yards was a tremendous feat by the Redskins defense. They will face Edgerrin James this week. The linebackers are the key to rush defense as far as stopping the ball rusher, but the defensive tackles have got to do their job, just like they did last Sunday.
