Redskins 29, Saints 24

The connection of Jason Campbell to Santana Moss struck big late in the fourth quarter to give the Redskins a come from behind 29-24 lead.  The very next possession with about 3 minutes left in the game, rookie S Chris Horton, subbing in for a ill Reed Doughty, picked off a Demetric Evans tipped pass by Saints QB Drew Brees to seal the fate of the Saints and lift the Redskins to the win.

Concerns over the Redskins lack of offense dissipated today after the offense racked up 455 net offense yards led by Jason Campbell’s 321 yards passing and Clinton Portis’ 96 yards rushing and 2 TDs.  The biggie was the 64 yards TD pass from Campbell to Moss with under 4 minutes to play.  Moss caught 7 passes for 164 yards and a TD to lead the Redskins receivers.  Portis was a major factor in this win, grabbing several first downs, rushing with power and bounce to 2 TDs.
Defensively rookie Chris Horton in his first NFL start, recovered a fumble and intercepted two tipped passes to lead the Redskins defense.   DE Jason Taylor recorded his first sack as a Redskin and S Laron landry was instrumental with two critical pass break ups to allow the Redskins to climb back from a 17-9 deficit. Rocky McInotsh stepped up and had a nice game today, two first down saving tackles and a forced fumble of Jeremy Shockey.
