The Redskins Youth Report

by Uncategorized

The Redskins Youth Report is a weekly feature article here at DC Pro Sports Report. This is our 7th year writing it, previous years at a Redskins site. We track each week the progress of the rookies and second year players and give them an PLUS (meaning their performance is rising), Neutral (which you can be looked up at Webster’s dictionary if you can’t figure it out) or MINUS (meaning performance is going down hill). You may find our ratings a bit conservative, but thats the way we write this article. We don’t take lightly moving players up and down the scale here.

THE ROOKIES

Your PLUSES (RISERS)

S Kareem Moore: (PLUS) Why? Moore’s main problem right now is practicing and getting healthy. We have to give him a PLUS because he just looks good. Yes, he had some lapses. Rookies do. Laron Landry had lapses. Moore possesses the talent, skill, power, and speed to be an effective NFL starter someday, perhaps sooner than many of us realize. If I am Reed Doughty, I am nervous. For the 2008 season, Moore is starting as a PLUS!

P Durant Brooks. (PLUS) Why? He beat out a veteran and punted very well in pre-season. His placement was excellent and he showed when pinned deep, he can also boom the ball. Regardless what Frost says in the media, Brooks earned the job. I am excited to see Brooks looking down on Frost in the stat column. Brooks will start the 2008 season off with a PLUS.
