CBS is letting analyst Billy Packer go after 28 years of calling college basketball games for the network. Okay, I realize this isn’t DC or Pro Sports news, but if you’re a hoops fan in America, you know about Billy Packer and you probably have an opinion on him. I never liked Packer so I don’t mourn his ejection from the CBS driver’s seat. Unfortunately, CBS is replacing Packer with Clark Kellogg, an improvement, but not a great one. I think CBS should have lured Jay Bilas away from ESPN and put him in charge of calling the Final 4 games, thus allowing Kellogg to remain in the studio, where he belongs.
