Harrisburg Senators (AA): Binghamton Mets shut down the Senators offense, blanking them 1-0 and allowing just 2 hits on the night. The Senators failed to take advantage of a shut down performance by ace Marco Estrada, who pitched 6 shutout innings, scattering 4 hist and striking out 6. Estrada lowered his ERA to 2.65. Luis Atilano took the loss, giving up 1 unearned run.
In good news for Harrisburg, they received Potomac starter Adrian Alaniz via promotion. The 8th pick of the 2007 draft, Alaniz was an impressive 9-0 with an ERA of 2.62. Alaniz recorded 56 strikeouts in 65.1 innings. Welcome to AA ball and the Susquehanna Valley Adrian! In addition, the Nats promoted reliever Adam Carr to bolster the Senators bullpen. Carr was 4-3 with 5 saves and an ERA of 6.15. Carr has struggled some this season after posting an impressive 5-1 record with a 2.02 ERA in 2007 in Vermont and Potomac. Luis Ati8lano was demoted to Potomac.
