Carter changes mind, won't enter NBA Draft

AUTHOR: dcprosportsreport | IN: Uncategorized | COMMENTS: None Yet

Josh Carter, Texas A&M’s leading scorer last season has withdrawn his name from consideration for the 2008 NBA Draft. It was rather unexpected when Carter originally announced his intention to go pro, as many did not consider him anywhere close to NBA-ready, but he wisely did not hire an agent and so had time to reconsider. Most likely, conversations with NBA scouts and personnel men convinced him that he would not be a first round pick and therefore would not get a guaranteed contract if he was selected. Going back to school for at least another year was a smart move for Carter.
Carter’s teammate, freshman DeAndre Jordan, is likely to be drafted in the lottery [DC Pro Sports Report has him going 10th to the New Jersey Nets] and thus he probably will not decide to return to college.
