DC Pro Sports Report Endorses Barack Obama

AUTHOR: | IN: Uncategorized | COMMENTS: 1 Comment |

Hey we can. Listen, we cover DC Pro Sports. Look at our focus! There is no other ultimate contact sport in Washington DC than Politics, period, hands down! The ultimate contact sport (and when we say contact, that can be taken in several contexts).
Actually, we both supported Barack Obama all along, but decided to out ourselves as the party begins to coalesce around Senator Obama. It is clear he is the Democratic nominee, that Mrs. Clinton is prolonging, or should we say, delaying her Senate career by staying on the campaign trail and winning primaries that simply don’t matter.
Fact is, this country is in a devastating and disastrous state, in terms of our economy, health care, education, and the way our nation is perceived world wide. At one time, our Nation was respected as a world leader, the world turned to the United States for leadership and for support. Now, the United States reputation is at an all time low because of arrogance and unilateral actions that offend the rest of the world. Senator Obama’s foreign policy will restore our reputation, faith in America, and leadership abroad. Fearing to negotiate, fearing to discuss differences, and fearing to meet others leads to situations like Iraq. We can’t afford another 4 years of arrogance and superiority complexes. In essence, it is time for real change.
There are still millions of people and children in the United States that either do not have access to or can not afford access to health care, simple health care. That is pathetic. We are the leading economy (at least for now) and most advanced society (at least for now) but yet we still have inadequate and unaffordable simple health care for many Americans. We think Senator Obama’s plan is best for American health care policy. It is certainly more affordable than Senator Clinton’s and it does not include mandates to the point of penalizing those than can’t afford it. Noble idea, but wrong policy choice.

No Child Left Behind is a joke. It has further set education behind, produced unrealitistic goals, geared American public education toward passing a standardized test, which in the long run puts us further behind. It was a HUGE unfunded mandate that has caused property and other local taxes to rise all over, and just plain sucks. We believe Senator Obama is the person to rid the education system of this failed law and put forth a new, rejuvenated and retooled education policy that will help us prepare to compete in a more competitive global society.
Ina time where gas prices have skyrocketed, we need new vision and leadership to develop a sound energy policy that begins to move America off of its oil addiction. Investing in alternative energies and more fuel efficient vehicles with higher fuel efficiency standards is the way to go and we believe Senator Obama’s plan is the right course.
Senator Obama has encouraged new voter registration from hundreds of thousands of previously politically inactive Americans across this nation, bringing in more and more citizens to have say in their government. It has been a long time since we have seen a candidate or President engage the youth of America and bring the youth out of political apathy and into becoming part of the solution. The youth of America are energized and talking politics for the first time in decades. In a time so desparate for change, we believe that as bad of a state that President Bush has put this nation in, it is going to take real change. It is going to take someone not locked in to the current political inside system, someone not beholden to Washington inside interests, someone that can step out of the ‘way we do things’ mantality and chart a new course and new vision for the future. We believe that is Senator Barack Obama.
There you have it. We are not a political site even though we are both political junkies, just like we are DC sports junkies, but hey, we just needed to do it, period! Plus he plays hoops! We agree though, his bowling sucks. So there you have it.
