Who is not ready to annoint John Lannan as the ace of the nationals pitching staff. Again today, Lannan pitched a gem, going 7 innings, scattering 4 hits and striking out 3 to even his record at 2-2 and lower his ERA to 2.64. Lannan has been the nationals hottest and most consistent pitcher this season, in an otherwise, pretty dismal season thus far. He got rocked last week for 6 runs in 4 innings, but beyond that, Lannan has been splendid.
Offensively, Wily Mo Pena and Will Nieves singled in the Nationals 2 runs. Nieves, playing for an injured Paul Lo Duca and Johnny Estrada, is hitting .348.
