Dear John Hollinger of ESPN,
You predicted that the Bullets would win 33 games this year — before you knew Gilbert would miss almost the entire season. That annoyed a lot of Bullets fans, but I defended you even though I disagreed with your prediction. I read what you write, Mr Hollinger, because you’re smart and you know basketball and numbers. But these power rankings are out of control. Okay, if you want to put the Sixers and the Raptors ahead of my Bullets, I can live with that. I don’t agree with it, but I can live with it.
But the Spurs at eleven? Really? There are 10 teams in the NBA that are better than the Spurs right now? Sorry, you lost me, Mr Hollinger. The fact that you have the Spurs ranked 11th demonstrates the weakness of your scoring differential metric.
All the best,
Spence of DC Pro Sports Report
P.S. I’m still gonna read your stuff.
