Gilbert Arenas has been cleared to play by the Washington Bullets medical staff, but he won’t play against the Milwaukee Bucks tonight and there is no timetable for when he might play again, if at all, this season. Arenas was cleared on Saturday by the same doctor that performed the surgery on him last November. This came only 6 days after Gil was told by the medical staff that he wasn’t cleared to play against the Detroit Pistons and should wait another week, at least.
“My feeling is, I’m all ready to go out there and play, and mentally I’m past that fear of getting hurt again and now you’re telling me I can’t play?” Arenas said the night of the Pistons game. “So I’m thinking that if you tell me a week, I need to take two weeks and make sure.”

He pushed himself with individual shooting and ballhandling drills during this recent road trip but said he wasn’t in game condition and doubted whether he could establish a “rhythm” with so few games remaining in the regular season.
Meanwhile, Antonio Daniels, who didn’t play against Utah due to a wrist injury says he will play tonight against Milwaukee. It is unclear if Caron Butler, who missed the Utah game with a hamstring injury, will play.
