I have to admit the obvious: I hurled abuse upon the notion of Odalis Perez as a serious rotation pitcher for the Washington Nationals. I wrote that I wanted him as the 5th starter, at most! I reacted to the notion of him as the opening night starter with unmistakable horror.
Perez may go out and throw 10 bad outings in a row, but I must admit I was wrong about last night. Perez was magnificent and so was most of the bullpen. Congrats, Odalis, you proved me wrong. I’m glad to write it.
