Former Capital and current Florida Panther Richard Zednik was slashed by teammate Olli Jokinen’s skate as Jokinen was hit and fell to the ice, severing cartid artery. Fortunately for Zed, there was a trained, professional medical staff present that likely saved his life while surgery did indeed save him. Zed is stable in a Florida hospital resting comfortably.
